Snoqualmie Falls ranks second, just behind Mount Rainier, as the most visited tourist attraction in Washington State. Just one look at the beautiful 268-foot waterfall (100 feet higher than Niagara Falls) will answer any questions you may have as to why this is such a popular tourist destination.

This beautiful two-acre park is landscaped with native trees and shrubs and comes alive with floral color in the spring. On the paths through the park, you will find several secluded benches and picnic tables for you to further enjoy the serene atmosphere the park offers. It is the perfect environment for a romantic picnic with a loved one. But this park also has room for groups of more than two. There is a covered picnic table area, a mid size grassy area to run in, drinking fountains to keep everyone hydrated and restrooms for all those "other" needs.

If admiring a stunning view of the falls is what you’re after, you will find it on a huge gazebo-like observation deck located 300 feet above the Snoqualmie River. It offers a fantastic bird’s eye view of the falls and surrounding area. For a more up close and personal view, you can hike down the half mile River Trail towards the base of the falls. It is a scenic hike that takes leads you right by an old power plant built in 1910. Just be aware that the grade is very steep, so good walking shoes are recommended. You can’t depend on your faithful canine friend to pull you up this trail, because dogs are not allowed in the park. After you have taken in all the scenery the park has to offer, you can stroll through The Falls Gift Shop to look at Snoqualmie memorabilia and products created by Northwest artists. The gift shop also has an area where you can refuel your body with a snack and/or beverage.

Being just 25 miles east of Seattle, Snoqualmie Falls Park is the perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It is a place of beauty with its exquisite views and breathtaking waterfall. It is a place that has been sacred for generations to the native people of Snoqualmie Valley. It is a place of history being that is houses the world’s first completely underground electric generating facility (built in 1898). It is a place definitely worth checking out.
